Executive Brief
Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI), a leading grocery and liquor retailer, was looking to streamline a complex promotions process. Due to their need to customise the system, it became increasingly difficult to navigate and ensure efficiency, with repetitive data entry points and manual processes. FSSI required a streamlined and standardised solution that would not only address the time drain the system was causing but also improve visibility, communication, collaboration, and planning
The Solution
The custom solution was centred on SAP PMR’s implementation, which replaced the previous cumbersome module. The integration enabled a self-serving, intuitive Vendor Portal that synced with back-office functions. It also facilitated real-time access to master data from FSSI’s ERP system and systematised connections between marketing assets and vendor funds. Furthermore, the solution automated downstream processes like Condition Contract Settlement, paving the way for a seamless promotional management process.
Transformation
- With the successful implementation of the SAP PMR, FSSI experienced a series of significant operational benefits:
- Streamlining of promotional processes, simplifying maintenance of complex mechanics, and enabling more customer-relevant offers.
- Marked decrease in manual effort, minimising risk of errors through integrated data & price updates.
- Improved financial assessments of promotional offers, leading to decisions that curbed margin leakage.
“The PMR project has progressed well despite the many challenges of 2020. The business, and our suppliers are genuinely excited to roll out our new promotional platform which will truly optimise our promotional functions in the Support Centre and our stores.”.
